1869 NEGLIGE CORSET - 20" WAIST
Ageless Patterns are reproductions from actual 1800's patterns. 5/8" seam allowances and grain lines have been added. These patterns were sized for the original time period so it is strongly recommended that one make a muslin mock-up to adjust to today's figure (specifically the waist) ...the ease and fit of the by gone days are not what we use for today's fashions!
This original corset was made of white jean and was furnished in front with a busk, and on the back with tabs and wide linen tapes. In fastening, the tapes on the right back are run through the slits remaining between the tabs and the edge of the left back. The ends of the tapes crossed and were hooked together in front.
