Our Wooden Busk - 14" is a finely finished hardwood busk inspired by traditional 18th- and early 19th-century stays. Historically, straight, non-separating wooden busks were used in center-front stays and early corsets to provide rigid support while allowing slight flex for comfort. Our modern version is tapered from 1-1/4" to 1-3/4" and finished smooth for easy cutting, sanding, and customization. It is ideal for historical recreations, bespoke corsetry, and small-batch production projects where both function and authenticity are desired.

Pro Tip: If cutting, we recommend lightly sanding all cut edges and optionally sealing with beeswax or shellac to prevent splintering and ensure smooth insertion into channels. This also helps preserve the historical look and feel of the busk.
