Our Steampunk Busk: Boning Only - 7" Pair gives corset makers the structural foundation for a swing arm clasp closure - without the clasps. Pre-drilled and coated after drilling to protect the holes, these heavy weight steel bones are precision made to accept our Swing Arm Clasps for a distinctive steampunk aesthetic at the center front. If you already have your clasps on hand, this is the efficient way to complete your build.
Each pair includes 2 busk sides at 7" long x 1" wide x 0.90mm thick, drilled for 3 clasps with holes spaced 1-3/16" apart and a gap of 1-5/16" between clasp positions.

Construction Notes
- Designed to accept our Swing Arm Clasps, set with rivets
- Required tools and materials: 3 Swing Arm Clasps, 12 Rivets, size Medium Flat Top Rivets, an Awl or Revolving Punch, a Rivet Setter and Anvil or Crafting Board, and a Wooden or Rubber Mallet
- Rivets must be set using a wooden or rubber mallet - do not use a metal hammer, as this can damage the coating or distort the steel
- This 7" length is best suited to cinchers and underbust corsets

Pro Tip: Baste the busk bones into position and test clasp alignment before setting your rivets permanently - once riveted, adjustments are difficult. Take your time with placement to ensure the clasp sides meet cleanly when closed.
