White Steel Boning for Corsetry - Pre-Cuts, Rolls, and Remnants

White Steel Boning - Rigid, Reliable Support

White steel boning is a dependable choice for corset makers who need firm, structured support. Made from high carbon, hardened spring steel, this boning is finished with a durable white nylon coating that prevents rusting and resists washing detergents and other fluids. Because it flexes in only one direction, white steel boning is best suited to straight seams where rigid structure matters most.

Available in 1/4" (6mm) width with a .012" (.30mm) thick core, white steel boning is a long-standing favorite for corsetry, costuming, and any project where firm, dependable shaping is the priority.

Our White Steel Boning Features

Not all white steel boning is created equal. Our white steel is manufactured in the US to professional standards using high carbon, hardened spring steel and a quality-controlled nylon coating process. These performance characteristics apply specifically to our boning and should not be assumed of cheaper or imported alternatives.

Tips for Using White Steel Boning

Use White Bone Cutters to trim your lengths cleanly, then file the cut ends smooth. Treat each cut end with Bone Tipping Fluid to seal the nylon coating and prevent the exposed steel from rusting or fraying over time.

Because white steel boning flexes in one direction only, it performs best in straight vertical seams rather than curved areas like the bust or hip. Pair it with sturdy cotton bone casing for clean insertion and long-term durability.

Remember that you will have a top and bottom binding on your finished corset so your bones should be approximately 1" shorter than the total measurement of your channel before finishing. Use pre-cuts for convenience or cut your own lengths with our quality boning cutter.
