Our Covered Stay (Centered) - Black - By the Yard is a 1/4" plastic boning encased in black cotton with a sewable lip on both sides - no separate bone casing required. The full finished width is 1/2", making it a clean, ready-to-sew boning solution that works with standard or double needle machines. Usage & Application

• Cut to length with sturdy scissors - the cotton casing protects cut ends and no bone tips are required
• Stitch through the lip on each side directly onto the garment fabric or lining - no separate bone casing channel needed
• Use with a standard presser foot or double needle for clean, parallel stitching along both lips
• Position along bodice seams, princess seams, or bust lines to add structure without bulk
• Suitable for use in lingerie, lightweight gowns, and delicate garments where traditional boning channels would add too much stiffness or weight

Pro Tip: Because the lip is stitched directly to the garment rather than inserted into a separate channel, covered stays are particularly fast to apply in high-volume or multi-boned garments. Cut all your stays to length first, then work down the garment stitching each one in place - a double needle makes quick work of securing both lips in a single pass.
